THOUSANDS of muddy runners will take on a military-style assault course in the Ragley Estate to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

Competitors, who can chose either a 5 or 10km route, will be bombarded with smoke, explosions, smells, sounds and music when they take on The Royal British Legion Major Series challenge on Saturday, October 22.

This event includes a log carry, a vanishing bridge, mud crawls, thick woods and cargo nets.

Runners will be sent out in waves every 10 minutes from 9.30am.

An event spokesman said: "As your legs run across muddy bogs and trenches, through cold-water lakes and wild terrain, your imagination will also run wild as you are immersed in each amazing obstacle zone.

"Rest assured, the Major’s hand-picked, 40-strong platoon of elite troops will be lining the course to support and guide you with a smile, yells of encouragement, and a helping hand along the way."

The event, which is one of the UK’s largest and most established obstacle course race series, has previously seen more than 2,800 participants.
