What a miserable lot they all are!

10:00am Sunday 28th September 2014

I must say I am dismayed at the actions of Redditch Council blocking roads to stop Mr Wilson setting up his funfair in the town. What a miserable lot they are. We used to be able to enjoy ourselves in Redditch.

Emergency exit needs attention

12:00pm Saturday 27th September 2014

Have the hospital management at the Alex taken a look at their emergency entrance/exit lately.

Appalled by ban on the funfair

12:00pm Friday 26th September 2014

We were appalled to learn that the local showmen have been prevented from setting up the funfair in the town centre. The Wilsons have, for generations, held a funfair in the town centre for a week in September. In the past the fair has been sited around the church green, the top of Unicorn Hill, Royal Yard and Alcester Street.

No thought went into these plans

10:00am Friday 26th September 2014

When are the CCG’s , NHS England and the Worcester Hospital Trust going to admit the University of Birmingham Hospital Trust’s option for the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch was never going to be looked at, as it would take money away from paying towards an expensive white elephant that was built in Worcester.

Councillor has broken the mould

11:00am Monday 15th September 2014

WHEN a candidate circulates a letter prior to an election that states they will work hard to do something, invariably the electorate are let down post-election.

Disgust over bus schedule changes

10:00am Sunday 14th September 2014

I AM disgusted no notification was given that the 247 bus service would be changing. Not until I saw a copy of the new bus timetable on August 26 did I know these would change from September 1.

Explain the library fees

10:00am Saturday 2nd August 2014

CAN anyone explain to me how our local libraries have been able to increase their borrowing charges by such astronomical amounts? As a regular borrower of spoken word CDs, I have been faced with a 33 per cent increase.

"Jewel" has a major flaw

9:54am Wednesday 30th July 2014

COUNCILLOR Michael Webb’s Jewel in the Crown has a major flaw which will reduce participation in community sport. How can this be a sensible plan for the future of the Dolphin Centre when the population of Bromsgrove is increasing and the need for sports facilities has never been greater?

Concerns over change to schools

12:00pm Wednesday 23rd July 2014

MANY parents, pupils and teachers in Redditch schools are rightly concerned about the proposed change to the age range at Tudor Grange Redditch, Ridgeway Middle School and two first schools, changes which would undermine the existing three-tier system.

12:00pm Sunday 20th July 2014

2:00pm Saturday 24th May 2014

AS an Alcester resident, I recently received the local Conservative ‘In Touch’ magazine, which states “… over the next few years we will likely see further development in Alcester”. How can this be justified?

MP is wrong on smoking issue

9:26am Wednesday 26th February 2014

ACCORDING to Redditch MP Karen Lumley, making a child inhale what she herself called “dangerous second-hand smoke” is as she puts it, “an unnecessary private matter with which the state should not be concerned”. So let’s take it that the state should not be concerned when it foots the bill to treat the child’s damaged lungs in the years to come, shall we Karen?
