The name St Lukes has been synonymous with ‘Headless Cross’ for as long as anyone can remember and many people have been saddened by the decision to remove the name of the local church and replace it with the ubiquitous ‘The Bridge’.

Letter from Westminster

Last week in Parliament, we had the pomp and ceremony of the Queen’s Speech. The Queen’s speech spells out the Government programme for this session – our Parliamentary work plan! When the banks faced collapse last year and the global recession hit, it was right for government to step in and prevent a meltdown of the banks.

Hitches spoil cinema trip

WHEN news came a couple of years ago of a cinema being built in the town I, like so many others couldn't wait. but not long after it opened there were complaints of the prices being too high, but recently there has been something else bugging me the last two times I have been to Redditch.

Draughty and dull

LEADING on from the recent article about the proposed revamp of the Alex’s reception – I had the experience a few evenings ago of this draughty, dull area, and it very much needs updating. However, am I alone in thinking that major rebuilding/refurbishment of the fabric of the hospital building should not be funded by the League of Friends and its army of volunteers?
