REDDITCH Borough Council has apologised for any upset caused to mourners after a graveyard was left in a "disgusting" state.
Muddy walkways were churned up by a tractor and trailer and a gravestone was flattened at the Abbey Cemetery in Redditch.
Mourners took to social media to slam the "disrespectful" treatment of the graveyard, with some visiting the site to pay respects to loved ones on Mother's Day.

The council has now said the issue has been "put right" and has shared photographs of the cemetery.
A council spokesperson said: "Ground disturbance at Abbey Cemetery, caused by a tractor and trailer carrying our operational works, has now been put right.
"As a result, we will be undertaking a review of our operational procedures to reduce the risk of any similar events happening in the future.
"We apologise for any upset this may have caused visitors".
They added that they are currently trying to get in contact with the family of the damaged headstone.
