A young girl who was playing on metal gym equipment in a park in Stourport has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious facial injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a park near Raven Street at around 11am yesterday morning (Monday, May 4). A community paramedic, an ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene. 

A spokesman from WMAS said: "The 12-year-old girl had reportedly been playing on metal bars in a park gym when she fell and hit her face on one of the bars."

Labour leader Ed Miliband made a last-minute stop off in the Black Country on Sunday to rally the troops ahead of polling day.

Dedicated party activists, councillors and candidates crammed into Polly's Tea Room in Brierley Hill this afternoon for a chance to see Mr Miliband, who was urging for a final wave of support in the last remaining days before voters go to the polls on Thursday (May 7).

He told supporters at the Mill Street cafe: "There's less than 100 hours to go, use them to knock on doors. If you've got any DIY between now and Thursday put it off."

Police are appealing for information after money and gold was stolen from a Bromsgrove property.

During the incident, which happened on Friday, April 10, at 4.40pm, a 77-year-old was at her Lydiate Ash home when her doorbell rang.

The woman looked out of her window and saw an elderly Asian couple dressed in traditional clothing standing on her doorstep.

A man has been rescued from a burning vehicle in Pensnett this afternoon by a community paramedic.

Moments after the man was dragged from the vehicle by the paramedic, the whole car became engulfed in flames.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was at the scene of the smouldering car following a single vehicle collision at the junction of Smithys Lane and Coopers Bank Road.

A car driver switched off his lights in a night-time chase around Redditch in a vain attempt to avoid police, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Jason Mohammed drove through pedestrian walk-ways when cornered in a cul-de-sac and also went along a cycle path, said Gareth Walters, prosecuting.

Two policemen eventually found the car abandoned and Mohammed hiding under a hedge.

A walker who ended up dislocating his ankle whilst in a wood in Halesowen yesterday afternoon (Monday, May 4) called 999 and directed ambulance staff to his location.

The 999 call came in at 4.15pm yesterday from a man who had been out walking and had fallen, causing a nasty injury to his ankle. Despite his pain, the man directed ambulance staff to his location which was in a wood off Frankley Green in Hunnington near to the RSPCA.

An ambulance, Hazardous Area Response Team paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

Droitwich's town centre and Vine Park were filled with festival goers at the weekend as the customary St Richard’s Boat and Car Festival brought in the visitors.

Organised by Wychavon District Council; Worcester, Birmingham and Droitwich Canal Society; and Droitwich Spa Vintage and Classic Car Rally, the festival, which continues over Bank Holiday Monday, offers something for all ages to enjoy.

Narrow boats lined the canal adjacent to the park where medieval re-enactments entertained the crowds and brave visitors were able to have a go at wielding swords at metal shields themselves.
