Redditch United 1, Paulton Rovers 1

Redditch went down to fifth in the table after a dissapointing draw in poor conditions against a dogged Paulton side.

The visitors did look better though than their lowly position of 23rd suggests, with Josh Morgan-Williams always a threat.

Redditch could have took the lead early on in the second minute when George Carline headed Calum Flanagan's corner goalwards but it was stopped on the line by a defender.

Carline then set up Ashley Sammons on five minutes but he shot just over the bar.

Paulton could have took the lead on 35 minutes when Josh Morgan-Williams broke away in the middle of the park and put Steve Williams through, but he skied his shot over the bar with just Jose Veiga to beat.

Chances were quite few and far between in the first half.

Just after the break, a poor pass from a home defender across the Redditch box only reached Leon Jeanne who slammed the ball home.

Redditch had a good opportunity to equalise on 53 minutes when Luke Shearer was brought down in the box by David O'Hare and got back up to slot home the penalty.

After this the game became scrappy and a bit tempermental, as both teams looked desperate to force a winner.

Shearer came close for Redditch on 63 minutes when he put a shot just wide after he had been sent clear and Morgan Williams put a shot over for Paulton.
