REDDITCH United have swooped for two players from newly-promoted Bedworth United.

Manager Liam McDonald made his first new additions of the summer by bringing in two key men who were key to the Greenbacks' play-off success in the Southern League Central Division.

Striker Daniel Dubidat, who was Bedworth's top scorer with 22 goals last year, and right back Jamie Ashmore have penned deals at the Valley Stadium outfit.

Ashmore replaces Jordan Jones, who joined Kidderminster Harriers two weeks ago.

McDonald said: "I am absolutely delighted to sign Daniel and Jamie, they were very important players for Bedworth.

"I have been after Daniel for sometime and wanted to sign him last year but he wanted to stay loyal to Bedworth and help them get promoted.

"He has been chased a number of clubs but I have worked very hard on signing him.

"Jamie will also be a great addition, I think he will be the best right back in the league.

"He is very influential and had 12 assists last season as well as chipping in with several goals too."

McDonald is in the process of bolstering his strike force with and is chasing Tividale forward Jordan Archer and is also keen to bring in at least one more striker.

Luke Shearer is set to remain at the club but Courtney Baker-Richardson, who joined from Romulus, has been released after failing to find his best form since joining in January.

Meanwhile, the club have also finalised their pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2015-16 campaign in the Southern League Premier.

They kick-off their programme at Pershore Town on Saturday, July 11 (3pm ko), then go to Sutton Town three days later (7.45pm ko).

On July 16, they tackle Droitwich Spa away and then entertain Stourbridge in the Worcestershire Senior Cup (3pm ko) on July 18.

If successful in the cup, the Reds then face Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough on July 21 or Highgate United in a warm-up game.

On Saturday, July 25, Redditch are at home to Alvechurch or playing in the WSC final or third place play-off.

On July 28, United are set to tackle Pilkington XXX at home (7.45pm ko) and complete pre-season with a home game against Solihull Moors on Saturday, August 1.
