REDDITCH Borough reckon they could have set some sort of league record following last week's 3-0 defeat at top of the table NKF Burbage in Midland League Two.
Borough were forced to field no less than four 16 year olds in their starting line-up for the trip to Leicestershire as they struggled to raise a side.
Yet despite their youthful outlook, Borough kept the leaders at bay for 66 minutes before they conceded their first goal.
Borough spokesman Julian Workman admitted: "It was ridiculous having to travel to Barwell with such a young side. But the quartet of Harry Rogers, Alex Birch, Tyriq Bailey-Nicholls and Callum Hall did themselves proud - as did the whole side.
"They were ecstatic at half time and I just told them to try and keep on going.
"I only really had 11 players as Jak Allbutt was on the bench. He hasn't played for the past 18 months because of injury, in fact he's hardly trained. But I brought him on for the last 10 minutes.
"I must admit travelling to the game, I thought we were going to be in for a really difficult night but the players were magnificent."
