TIM Harris says his Redditch United players need to learn how to "win ugly" on their travels.

United beat Gosport Borough 4-2 at the Trico last Tuesday but failed to back it up when losing 1-0 at Biggleswade Town on Saturday.

Reds have not won away from home since their success over Kings Langley back in October.

Harris thinks his players need to manage away challenges much better if they're to improve approaching the final months of the campaign.

He said: "Conditions were poor against Biggleswade and we didn't do enough," said the manager. "That's no excuse because the conditions are the same for both sides but we didn't manage them well.

"We know we need to improve our away form and that's the area we are looking at.

"Our record speaks for itself because we're unbeaten in our last six home games.

"We now need to look closely at how we go about playing away.

"It's okay when we're playing on a carpet at home but we need to know how to change our game in difficult conditions.

"At the moment we are struggling to win ugly. You can't always play the beautiful game and we need to start realising that."

United are due to take on St Ives Town away tonight before welcoming Royston Town to the Trico Stadium this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Harris has no new injury concerns but defender Louis Ezewele remains sidelined with a hamstring problem for another two to three weeks.
