NEW Redditch United boss Tim Harris has made central defender Louis Ezewele his third signing since taking charge at the Trico.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol Rovers prospect, who turns 21 this month, arrives from Tamworth on an 18-month contract.

He follows the arrivals of forward Edji Mbunga and on-loan midfielder Adam Page.

Ezewele is known for his no-nonsense attitude and battling qualities, and he will add strong competition in defence.

Harris said he was delighted to attract such a high-calibre player to Redditch and believes Ezewele will make a good impression.

He said: "Louis is someone I was keen to sign at a previous club but, unfortunately, the move didn’t come to fruition. He boasts some excellent attributes, and, excitingly, at only 20 there is plenty of potential to unlock.

“Injuries haven’t been kind to him, so he hasn’t played as many matches as he would like, but he went out on loan to gain match fitness, and he is keen to make a fresh start, showcase his talent and work hard for the team. I am delighted to have gained his signature.”

Ezewele made his debut during the 7-1 victory over Evo-Stik South Premier rivals Farnborough on Saturday.
