IMPRESSIVE Alcester Town stretched their unbeaten run to six games after pulling off a 3-0 win over Continental Star in Midland League Division Three.

Jimmy Ward blazed an early chance wide but Alcester continued to plug away and were rewarded when Ellis Kalach headed the ball back across goal for Downey to smash home.

Alcester had to wait until the second half before finally making certain of victory.

Will Beach, who proved a constant threat throughout, set up the chance for Kalach to convert his seventh goal of the season.

Victory was completed when full back James Robbins delivered a delicious cross which was expertly headed homer by Ward.

Delighted boss Danny Janes said: "We controlled the game, we dictated everything and I was confident throughout that we would get the win".

Janes also praised the work provided by the club's committee to help promote National Non-League Day which saw some of the club's junior players walking out with the first team.

Alcester have now climbed to third place in the table but turn their attentions to Smedley Crook Cup action this Saturday when they travel to face Division Two side Coton Green.
