ANGRY Alcester Town player-manager Danny Janes hit out after his side  lost 1-0 at home to local rivals Inkberrow in Midland League Division Three.

Alcester were heavily depleted through injury and unavailability. As a result, they struggled to get any foothold in the game.

Inkberrow eventually took the lead when Nathan Davies netted from a goalmouth scramble.

Alcester went close in the second half when Matt Chambers hit the post from 20 yards out, but their prospects plummeted when they had Kyle Xavier sent off for a second yellow card.

Goalkeeper Richard Layton kept Alcester in the game at this point until Inkberrow were reduced to 10 men as well after goalscorer Davies picked up up a second yellow card.

Afterwards an unhappy Janes said: "It was one of the worst games I have ever played in. I felt sorry for the people who came to watch".

Alcester host NKF Burbage in the League Cup semi-final this Saturday and Janes warned his players: " I cannot accept a performance of such a low quality again."
