REDDITCH have risen to seventh spot in Midlands 4 West South following a compelling 41-14 success over local rivals Kings Norton.
The Kingfisher's played some exhilarating rugby at times and soon took command as they went onto build a 27-0 lead.
Lewis Saddington opening the scoring with a pinball run when bouncing off several attempted tackles to score wide out.
Sam Gladwin missed the resulting conversion but was soon on target, adding the points to a second try from skipper Gareth Davies which resulted from a catch and drive move.
Kings Norton were struggling to contain the powerful running of backs Will Ballion and Barry Forester-Smith. From one 60 metres Ballion run, Ash Mooney raced over unopposed and then added a fourth following a strong scrummage, Gladwin converting one and then adding a penalty to make the score 27-0.
Kings Norton finally got as foothold in the game and responded with converted tries from Chris Carling and Chris Hands, clawing the score back to 27-14.
Redditch were in no mood to surrender the advantage and Mark Green set up Nathan Matthews for a fifth try before Ash Mooney rounded off the scoring to complete his hat-trick, both tries being converted by Gladwin.
Redditch have no fixture this Saturday.
