KEVIN Kingham couldn't hide his delight this week after his Studley side came from 2-0 down at half time to claim a 3-3 draw with title chasing Bromsgrove Sporting.

Playing in front of their biggest crowd of the season, Studley snatched a 3-2 lead with just five minutes remaining - only to let it slip 30 seconds later when Bromsgrove caught them out straight from the resulting kick-off.

Kingham claimed: "Thge ball was played forward and it bobbled about a bit, so we had the chance to clear it, but didn't and they scored. But I was still really pleased with my players.

"I think they were expecting a real talking to at half time when we were 2-0 down. But I just told them to stick with the things we were trying to do, to show confidence and belief and we got back into the game."

Dangerous Dan Stokes scored two goals of the highest quality to drag Studley back level before substitute Danny Dineen came off the bench to put them ahead when sliding home from a corner.

Kingham added: "I wish I'd had a camera because all the lads slid into the corner after the third goal. They were ecstatic and there's a great deal of comradeship amongst the players. It's a real pleasure to manage them!

The match had been played in dreadful weather conditions and survived two torrential downpours. Kingham quipped: "I had to laugh. When I came out of the changing rooms there were two ducks, mallards I think, swimming on the pitch. It said it all!

Kingham was left dismayed that Easter Monday's trip to bottom of the table Southam United was called off owing to a waterlogged pitch. But he admitted: "As soon as I woke up that morning, I knew the game would be off."

The downside is that the game is now likely to be re-arranged for a Thursday evening and Kingham revealed: "It might be that we have to play four games in eight days now as a result of the Southam game being called off.

"We're going well at the moment and we wanted to keep the good run of form going at Southam, so it was a shame it was called off.

"I haven't got a big squad of players and with games now coming thick and fast, it's going to be a case of how I manage it.

"The objective was always to try and finish mid-table this season and we're well on target to do that. It was always going to be a rebuilding job because it's a completely new squad as I only had one player in Gary Joynes left from last season.

"Every point we pick up, we celebrate and we're loving it at the moment!

Studley are in action on Thursday night, March 31 when they entertain Pelsall Villa at the Beehive. Then on Saturday, they travel to Racing Club Warwick.
