ST Bede’s Catholic Middle School enjoyed success in hockey and martial arts.
Three teams were involved in the County Hockey Champ-ionships, with one side winning titles and booking their place at the Midlands finals.
The year six team won 2-1 against Holy Redeemer, with both goals from Charlie Knebel, supported by Ciaran O’Connor, Alfie Madden and Hassan Iqbal.
The year seven team bagged the county title for a second successive time after four wins in a row.
Tom Coleman, Callum Read, Harrison Young, Charlie Williams, Cian Hodson and Matthew Barratt all scored goals, while keeper Sam Knebel and Cian Amphlett in defence ensured no goals were conceded.
Assistant principal Matt Russell said: “These boys are a privilege to teach and performed superbly today. Last year they finished third and we look forward to taking on the best in the Midlands in the next round.”
Meanwhile, St Bede’s pupil and thai boxer, George Rowand won the European Challenge title by defeating a Dutch opponent in Crewe.
