It was a proud day to see our teams take part in the ceremony of a minutes silence for Remembrance Sunday – and irrelevant of the weather we have been having we only lost 2 matches this week.

In our external cups Astwood FC beat Studley Sporting 4-0 in the WFA Sunday Junior Cup and AFC Birmingham were narrowly beaten 2-1 by St Johns Rangers.

In our internal cups FC Redditch have progressed to the Quarter Final of the Steven Troth Cup after beating Toby Jug 4-3 on penalties after their match was 2-2 after 90 minutes; they will meet Catshill Rangers in their next round.

FC Arrow Spas took themselves to Round 2 of the Jim Fleeman Cup after beating AFC Walkwood & Feckenham 2-1; they will travel to meet Astwood in the next round.
We saw 2 of the second round matches played in the Jim Fleeman Cup: Lydiate Casuals held their own against AFC Bromsgrove but sadly lost 4-2 on penalties after the match finished 4-4 after 90 minutes. They will host South Birmingham Activ in the Quarter Final. In the other match Hizza United were the winners of their match, beating Racing Club RB 7-1; they will travel to Sporting Rednal in their quarter final match.

In the BSA Cup we had two matches played: Bartley Reds hosted VKL United but were beaten 8-5 in a thrilling game to include a Jake Forman hat trick – they will host Sporting Rednal in the 2nd round. Rubery Memorial beat Oasthouse Athletic 4-0 so they will host either Redditch Town or AFC Bromsgrove who are yet to play.

In league action AFC Thomas Brothers beat Arrow Valley 3-1 taking themselves level on points as the teams in 3rd and 4th place in the Premiership table.

In the Championship, South Birmingham Activ took all three points after beating Sporting Rednal 4-2 keeping them well secured at the top of the table – 9 points ahead of Astwood in 2nd place.

In League 1, Redditch Borough Devs travelled to the Bromsgrove 3G where they were to take all three points, beating Catshill Rangers 4-3. Redditch Town took all 3 points after beating Churchfields united 4-1 and Stoke Prior beat Astwood FC Reds 9-0 with a Curtis Smith hat trick. In the final game Hardly Athletic & Alvechurch Village Swans took 1 point each when their match finished 1-1.
