STRIKER Keith Rostill is battling to be fit for Alvechurch's opening Midland Alliance clash at home to Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday.
He was one of a number to miss the final warm-up match at Lye Meadow when visitors Coleshill Town ran out 2-1 winners.
Scott Richards and Gareth Davies were also missing and manager Shaun Cunnington is hopeful the trio will be fit for the weekend.
"It was disappointing to lose but, on the whole, we played some decent football," the manager said.
"We missed one or two open goals which would normally go in.
"It may have been a friendly but I don't like losing any games - winning is a good habit to get into."
Saturday's match at Lye Meadow kicks off at 3pm.
On Tuesday, Church make the short trip to Studley (ko 7.45pm).
