STUDLEY boss Lee Adams admits his side is not the finished article going into the new season.

But he believes he is close to having a side good enough to avoid a repeat of last season's relegation dogfight.

The Bees drew 1-1 at Feckenham in their final pre-season match at the weekend, Craig Hall finding the net against Adams' former outfit.

"A few people were disappointed with the result and it's true that we didn't play very well," he said.

"But, overall, we have had a good pre-season, picking up what would have been five points from five games.

"We scored five goals and conceded five and I'm happy with that.

"We know we are solid at the back, in midfield and up front. It is out wide where we need to bring people in and I'm hoping to sign a left-sided player in time for Saturday.

"We're still a little bit short but it's not all doom and gloom as we're not far off from being a decent side."

Studley start their campaign with a trip to Rocester on Saturday (ko 3pm) before playing host to neighbours Alvechurch on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
