SIX-A-SIDE FOOTBALL: The new six-a-side league organised by soccersixes kicked off this week with 24 teams taking part in a series of grading games.

League matches start on Sunday with two divisions of 12 teams competing at Trinity High School's Astroturf.

The results from the grading games: Heiniken 4-0 Lionface, Clubhouse 4-1 Egmon Homes, Brazil 2-1 Rag of The UK, fc Chronic 3-0 Rag, JD United 0-6 RJS, Strollers 0-5 Blades, N& C 6-1 Real GSE, Norfolk 0-1 Acrington, Reds 1-3 Kingpins, Dento AFC1-8 Warriors, Big Timers 5-9 Dream Team.

Soccersixes' Ross Spacey said: "We could not have wished for it to have run more smoothly. The games were played in a good spirit and refereed by top quality FA officials.

"We were surprised at the number of spectators - there must have been mopre than 500 people."

Referee Brian Chapman said: "Three referees attended from the FA and the organisation was excellent.

"Now the league starts for real and I can see it being very exciting."
