WORCESTERSHIRE Schools County squad returned from the Gothia Junior Football World Cup on a high after a great display.
The girls made it to the last 16 in the under-15 section in Sweden. The squad contained Redditch girls Daisy Clements, Ellie Dunn, Grace Godwin, Missy Goodwin, Megan Hadley, Bailey Hodge, Anna Nicod and Emilia Wright.
The team finished third in their group to progress but were edged 4-2 by Alviks IK in the last 16.
The tour requires a team of coaches, support staff and physios but not all the girls in the current squad could afford to attend. The team is aiming to raise enough funds so all the squad can compete and are provided with the best available support staff.
