STUDLEY boss Kevin Kingham hailed his side’s collective spirit after they recorded a third straight win in the Midlands Division One.

The Bees ended Heath Hayes’ nine-game unbeaten run with an emphatic 3-1 victory at home.

The powered into a 2-0 lead by half-time thanks to goals for Matt Edwards and Kiel Mullen.

Hayes pulled one back before Gary Turner fired into the back of an empty net after Mullen’s effort from the halfway line had tested the opposition keeper.

Victory means 12th placed Studley are pushing hard to try to overtake Coventry Copsewood and Racing Club Warwick.

Kingham said: “It was an impressive win for us because Heath Hayes have been on a very good run of their own.

“We have lost just once in ten games and that is not just down to one player hitting form, everybody is playing well as a collective and it makes a big difference.

“We are pushing hard on the team above us and hopefully we can keep up this form.”

Studley have five games in 11 days, starting last night against in-form Leicester Road.

They then go to Pelsall Villa on Saturday (3pm ko), before welcoming Hinckley to Studley next Tuesday (7.45pm ko).
