LIAM McDonald says is more proud of his side's new found resilience than of their free-scoring attributes.

The Redditch United boss watched his side sweep to a second consecutive 3-0 away win - this time at Arlesley Town - a result which keeps them well on course for top 10 finish in the Calor Southern League Premier Division.

"I'm probably more proud of the clean sheets than us scoring lots of goals," said McDonald. "Two clean sheets and six goals shows we are at.

"When we were conceding goals before Christmas I was was never worried because unlike most teamsI built our team from the front rather than back but we now have a better shape defensively.

"It was difficult for us, me being a new manager and having a young side but the lads know what's expected of them now." Yes, we conceded four at Bideford but we aren't really conceding a major amount of goals and |I'm hoping in the next two or three games we can get our goal difference back to somewhere near level."

Redditch are currently second in what McDonald describes as a mini league starting at ninth place and a win at Corby Town tomorrow would see them leapfrog the Northamptonshire side.

"We';l go to Corby at full strength and very confident after the last two games, and look to be positive. When we are away it's still our main aim to get goals and I think that surprises quite a few teams. They expect us to come and play 4-5-1 but we have had four forwards at times.

"At Arlesley Brad Catlow made a couple of really good saves when we were 3-0 up which shows the desire to keep that clean sheet but it was also good to welcome back Kevin Flanagan from injury and Ashley Sammons' free-kick was fantastic but it was an all-round team performance with no one really standing out..

"We target six points from those two games and we are still on course to achieve the points total we set before the season started of 65. We've learned a lot and are still learning and hopefully that will make us mentally much tougher as we look ahead to next season."
