GOLFERS have commemorated their club’s100th year by burying a centenary time capsule on site.
The idea was the joint decision of Redditch Golf Club’s Centenary Committee and committee member Peter Nash constructed and sealed the capsule, which contained a range of items designed to give future generations a picture of how members celebrated the milestone at the Lower Grinsty Lane club.
Peter Nash said: “We collected a wide spread of material ranging from a Redditch Golf Club ball through to all the centenary memorabilia we produced, including a tie, lapel badge, ball marker, ball tag, centenary dinner attendees list, centenary menu signed by our VIP guest Peter Allis and president Bill Keen.
“We also put in items like the AGM agenda and the restaurant menus, plus a copy of the centenary booklet.”
