I LIVE at the bottom of the Holloway in Droitwich, which is in a conservation area of the town. 0pposite my cottage is a grade II listed wall which was sprayed with offensive graffiti over six months ago.
The culprits have been arrested and I understand court proceedings are ongoing.
However, I have spent a lot of time and effort trying to get someone to take responsibility for its removal. I am amazed at how many buck passes we have in our various organisations to what seems to me to be a simple job. If it had been on my property, it would have been removed the following day.
However, community spirit is in short supply at the moment where I live. I am proud to live in Droitwich and think the council and volunteers have done a great job on improving life for us all.
As a consequence, many more visitors have been visiting the lido, the park and our successful festivals, so it is such a shame they have to look at mindless graffiti on a grade II listed wall.
P Furby Holloway.
