AS a member of Redditch Council’s planning committee, I am somewhat taken aback by the Labour group’s recent confused decisions on planning in the town.
Not only having had the recent debacle of their about-face decision to withdraw their support for the residents in Webheath, we now have their refusal to give outline planning permission to develop a brown field site in Feckenham.
This site would have given the young people from the village and beyond the opportunity to buy their own property in the village without building on greenfield sites.
This must be contrary to what their leader, Ed Milliband, is professing, that the country should build its way out of the current crisis.
The sad part is that the development had overwhelming support not only of local residents but also the parish council.
