IN a time where people are too quick to complain, my wife and I would like to express our gratitude and eternal thanks to the midwives and staff on the delivery suite and ward 15 at the Alexandra Hospital.

Every member of staff that we came across has been courteous and helpful. Not long after labour, my wife had a complication which resulted in a lot of blood loss. A very scary time for us both but due to the speed, efficiency and professionalism of all concerned, we knew that my wife was in safe hands.

Being residents of Redditch, the proximity of the Alex has been a blessing. Due to high blood pressure, Louisa was in hospital seven times before she was admitted a few days before Lottie was born. She was in for more than a week, so visiting daily was made easy living just a few miles away.

There are too many names to mention to thank and it’s a little unfair to name a few, so hopefully those people know who they are. I don’t know how much midwives get paid but I imagine it isn’t enough for the amazing job they do.

I hope this letter goes a little way to showing how thankful we all are.
