Redditch Choral Society
After a successful year the Christmas Concert was held at St Matthias and St George Church Astwood Bank. The performance included Bach's Sleeper's Wake, Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams and Ruth Chan's variation on Christmas Carols for children. The choir were accompanied by children of St Mary's School in performing the Ruth Chan Carols. The professional orchestra was led by Yu- Mien Su and the soloists were Katie Leaver, soprano, Brett Elesmore, tenor and CR Check bass.

The choir are sad to lose our long serving chairman, Joan Witherington Perkins who has retired from her post,but was are pleased that she has decided to be president. Our colleague Liz Carswell has become the new chairman.
Rehearsals have commenced for the Spring Concert to be performed at St Stephen's Church on June 11 and will include Haydn's Creation.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at Crabbs Cross Methodist Church, new members are welcome.
