INVESTIGATORS have released an image of seven people they wish to speak to about the Hillsborough tragedy.

The potential witnesses are thought to have helped some of the 96 Liverpool fans who died at the FA Cup semi-final on April 15, 1989.

Bromsgrove resident Andrew Brookes, aged 26 at the time, was among those who died at the Hillsborough stadium.

The original verdicts of accidental death were quashed in 2012 following a campaign by the Hillsborough families, including Andrew's sister Louise who has been attending the Warrington inquest.

On behalf of Hillsborough inquests coroner Sir John Goldring, the images have been released by Operation Resolve, which was set up by Home Secretary Theresa May to investigate whether any individuals or organisations are criminally culpable for their part in the disaster.

In previous similar appeals, a total of 28 people have been identified.

Operation Resolve was set up after the Hillsborough Independent Panel Report was published.

The public are asked to visit operationresolve.co.uk to view the gallery of pictures.

Anyone who can identify any of the people in the images is asked to call Operation Resolve on 0800 283 284, or visit the Operation Resolve website, operationresolve.co.uk.
