PEOPLE can step back in time and explore some of Worcestershire's most historical sites this summer.

Over the coming weeks, Hanbury Hall near Droitwich will be giving visitors the opportunity to see the 'semi-circle' — an original 18th century design feature put back in to the park landscape.

At Greyfriar's House and Gardens in Worcester city centre, rugs are being repaired and re-laid on the newly revealed wooden floor and Croome Court near Pershore has the aptly named Gouty Chair, an 18th century exercise chair for gout sufferers, on display.

Catherine MacCarthy, head of conservation at the National Trust in the Midlands, said: “We love showcasing objects from our collections for visitors to enjoy. The more curious looking ones initially attract the most attention but the fascinating stories behind some of our more ordinary things can be just as intriguing as the items themselves.

"We try to bring different objects to the forefront throughout the year and even sometimes completely redress a room. It’s a great way to show different perspectives, or focus on different stories about the buildings we care for and their former occupants."
