A WOMAN has had a miraculous escape after falling onto train tracks at Redditch Railway Station.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the station, on Unicorn Hill, Redditch, before 5.00pm yesterday.

Two ambulances, an incident support officer and a Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) emergency doctor were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a woman who was on the platform being cared for by members of the public.

“The woman had reportedly fallen through the gap between the edge of the platform and a moving train. Bystanders quickly pulled the woman to safety.

“Miraculously, the woman, believed to be in her 30s, suffered a relatively minor head injury. Crews treated the woman at the scene, dressed a wound on her head and immobilised her with a neck collar and spinal board as a precaution.

"The woman was then taken by land ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for further assessment and treatment.”
