SECURITY staff at Kingfisher Shopping Centre have been praised after detaining a female shoplifter, who has now been arrested.
Police were called by a retailer at the Redditch shopping centre at around 11.30am on Monday, April 23.
The female was attempting to steal goods worth more than £120.
Staff successfully detained the shoplifter who was later arrested by police and taken into custody.
Police have praised the actions of the security staff and their attempts to reduce thefts in the shopping centre.
A police spokesman said: "We thank the retail staff and security for their work in detaining the shoplifter and encourage retail stores to continue to make positive attempts to reduce theft from their stores."
