REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley has welcomed the announcement of £4 million in Government investment in motoring technology.
Worcestershire County Council is one of nineteen councils across England to receive a share of the investment and will spend £300,000 on traffic beating technology, to improve the way traffic incidents are dealt with.
The investment in a cutting edge information sharing system will mean that traffic incidents can be dealt with quickly by highway staff and vehicles.
Mrs Lumley said: "This is great news for Redditch and Worcestershire. With this investment, motor incidents can be handled safely and quickly, which means less traffic and less disruption to motorists and business.
"This announcement shows that the Conservative Government is firmly committed to actively tackling today’s problems with modern and innovative solutions. It’s great to see such forward thinking at the heart of Government."
