AN opticians in Redditch has raised £450 for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
During National Eye Health Week (September 19 to 25) Specsavers in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre donated £1 from every sight test taken to the charity.
Store director, Gurdeep Bansal, said he was thrilled with the result.
"We can’t believe how much we were able to raise for RNIB," he said
"It is a great result and we are just delighted that we are able to donate the money to a great cause. Being opticians, we see everyday how important it is to have a charity such as RNIB raising awareness of sight concerns."
The Royal National Institute of Blind People raises awareness of sight problems and how to prevent sight loss in the UK.
The charity also campaigns for a more inclusive society by providing emotional and practical support to people affected by sight loss.
