FORGE Mill will be decking the museum in traditional festive frivolity this week as it prepares for its annual Victorian Christmas Craft Fair

The fair, which runs on November 28 and 29, will feature more than 20 craft stalls each day, displaying beautiful home-made gifts including candles, soaps, pottery, knitted items, jewellery, cakes, jams and wooden gifts.

Families will be able to don period headwear for a family photograph and there will be a Victorian era fashion display and popular optical illusions.

Councillor Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: "No one did Christmas quite like the Victorians did, so the event at Forge Mill will be a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit.

“Children and adults alike can learn about how people celebrated this time of the year in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Come along to join in with the fun and frivolity.”

Festive music and carol singing will be provided by Alcester Victoria Silver Band and Indigo Arts to add some atmosphere to the shopping experience.

Youngsters will also be able to make a visit to Father Christmas between 11am to 3pm.

The event runs from 11am to 4pm each day and entry is £1 for adults and children go free.

There are small additional charges to visit Father Christmas and for rides on the swing boats.
