MORE than 100 deprived children from across the world will receive some unexpected Christmas cheer thanks to a kind-hearted Redditch nursery.
Staff, parents and children from Ragamuffins Day Nursery in Rectory Road have been busy packing shoe boxes filled with gifts for the Samaritan's Purse appeal Operation Christmas Child.
The event was organised by nursery early years teachers Kiki Towler and Chloe Shayler.
Nursery manager Natalie Crawford said: “It is the first year we’ve done it and it has been very successful. We will definitely be doing it again next year.”
The nursery successful collected 109 boxes.
The boxes, contain items such as sweets, socks, toothpaste and small toys, which will be distributed later this year for the international project which sends presents to impoverished children.
