A REDDITCH day centre is holding a free fete and fun day to raise awareness of people living with dementia.
The event is being held in the newly opened centre Valuing Individual People (VIP), based at The Barn, The Craft Centre, Winyates on Saturday, September 12.
There will be bouncy castle, barbecue, refreshments, ice cream, table sale and a raffle with prizes.
Games including Splat the Rat, Hook a Duck and Treasure Island will be entertaining visitors and there will also be a chance to soak caretakers in the stocks.
The centre is designed to support people living with all types of dementia, sensory impairments and disabilities by encouraging them to take part in activities and hobbies and enjoy remaining strengths and abilities.
The new centre was opened at the beginning of the year by Redditch’s MP Karen Lumley.
Funding for this service can be accessed from Worcestershire County Council. To find out if someone is entitled to funding get in touch with their social worker.
