A REDDITCH couple will be celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary next week after 60 years of wedded bliss.
Joyce and Lancelot Millington will be celebrating the special milestone on September 3.
The couple married in 1955 at St. Cuthbert's Church in Shropshire before moving to Redditch in 1968 where Lance took a job as a farm manager in Astwood Bank.
Lance also worked for the Three Counties Agricultural Services and British Aluminum, while Joyce enjoyed working at St Georges School as a dinner lady and at the Redditch Indicator.
In order to accommodate his growing family of five children Stuart, Angela, Penny, Andrew, and Lesley, Lance became a handyman and developed houses in Beoley Road, Plymouth Road and The Mayfields
If all that wasn't enough Lance was also involved in the Redditch carnival as a member of the committee for several years and until recently was director and trustee of the Callow Hill Residents Committee.
Today the pair enjoy gardening and cooking together, as well as spending time with their family of nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
They will be having a party to celebrate their 60 years together with the family.
