ST Bede's Catholic Middle School recently set a day aside for its year seven pupils to take part in a bullying workshop.
A professional theatre company, The Little English Theatre, came to work with the children to discuss the topic of bullying, understand why it can happen and give them strategies to deal with it if it occurs.
The pupils had chance to get involved in a wide range of drama activities specifically designed to encourage positive interaction and to help the pupils to express themselves and their feelings.
A school spokesman said: "The workshop has been a regular part of our year seven English studies.
"Workshops like this provide the pupils with a great opportunity to express their worries and fears through drama. It links really well with our life skills lessons which support children so that they can learn to cope in real life situations and tackle bullying head-on."
