A TRIO of West Midlands Ambulance Service employees are strapping on their running shoes in the name of charity.
Paramedics Lisa Medhurst and Andy Lightbody along with emergency medical technician Nicky Masters are taking part in the Worcester City 10k race on Sunday, June 1.
Ms Masters is running for the Midlands Air Ambulance and will be joined by her colleague Mr Lightbody, who will be on hand to offer her moral support
“I have recently been encouraged to join the 10k run with a group of friends who have been training together,” she said.
“I then decided to do it for an amazing cause and chose the Air Ambulance, an obvious choice for us in the emergency services.
“I wanted to help promote awareness and raise money at the same time.
“My ex-ambulance crewmate Colin Apps has been part of the air ambulance team for some years and has been my inspiration.”
Ms Medhurst is fundraising for The Lullaby Trust, a charity supporting bereaved parents.
On her JustGiving page she says: “I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child. This charity try and help people deal with that unimaginable nightmare.”
