A YOUNG Alcester man was jailed after causing serious injury to two teenage girls by driving dangerously on a Worcestershire road.

The 20-year-old driver Kieren Hoskins, of Vallet Avenue, Alcester, was also hurt in the crash at 1am on November 20 last year in Harvington Lane, Norton, near Evesham.

The Citroen Saxo he was driving is believed to have left the road and ended up in a field.

Hoskins and the two passengers, Kirsty Hooper and Jordan Skidmore, were all thought to have been thrown from the car and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Hoskins pleaded guilty to two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and he was banned immediately from getting behind the wheel. He also admitted driving without a proper licence or insurance.

He was sentenced to 12 months in a youth offenders institution at Hereford Crown Court on Monday, January 11.

Hoskins was ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge and was banned from driving for three years.
