A TEENAGE girl, aged between 13 and 17, was assaulted on her way to school in Alcester.

Police launched an investigation following the incident which took place opposite the entrance to Alcester Hospital between 8.00am and 8.15am on Thursday, November 5.

Detective Inspector Mark Lakey said: "Initial reports from the victim state that there were a number of males involved in this incident. We are currently working with the victim to get more details of the incident and a better description of those involved.

"In the meantime, we are keen to speak to two people who interrupted the incident. These are described as being a man and a woman in their 70s or 80s. The man was wearing a brown suit and the woman was wearing a purple dress."

"We believe the males made off towards Kinwarton Road in the direction of Tesco. We would appeal to anyone else who witnessed this incident or has information that may help police with their enquiries to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 248 of Thursday, November 5.
