ALCESTER’s annual Fun Run attracted about 100 keen participants to take part and raise cash for the Alcester Rugby Football Club.

Runners could choose either the novice 3.5 miles or the Olympic 5 miles route with both starting in High Street.

The event was again supported by Alcester Academy with over half of the runners being pupils and staff from the school.

The boy’s fun run was won by Alcester Academy pupil, Oscar Barbour, with a time of 17 mins 45 secs and he reclaimed the school’s shield. The first girl home was Seren Mahon.

The first senior male passed the finish line was Alcester Academy headteacher, Paul Hyde, whilst the first senior female home in the fun run was Kate Tunstall.

Arron Bjorn Cook was the first person home from the Olympic route with Lucy Tugwell as the first female.

Alcester Fun Run this year preceded the Hollywood Themed Street Market in Alcester High Street.
