A LABEL Innovations open at Manor Farm Leisure (Island Pool) on Saturday saw good weights taken to the scales. Top weight was in form Glen Ralph who caught 116lb 12oz of carp off peg 32 fishing maggot up in the water.

Mal Crook fished similar style for 82lbs 12ozs off peg 34. Third was Scot Poynton (58lb 4oz). Fourth Arnie Duggan (52lbs 13oz). Fifth Andy Simmons (47lb 4oz). Sixth Glyn Blewett (44lb 12oz), 25 anglers took part.

Lodge Park AC held a match on Lodge Pool on Sunday and Arnie Duggan had 63lb of carp from peg 43 for a win fishing paste and pellet on the pole. On peg 29 Glen Ralph caught 45lb for second spot. Third Tony Sumner (43lb 8oz).

Fourth Mick Strain (26lb 9oz). Mal Faux (25lb 12oz) took fifth spot.

ASTWOOD Bank's Dark Lane Angling Club fished their M&B Cup on the Arrow on Saturday.

Phil Smith took the honours with 11lb 13oz off Bleachfield Meadow, pipping Simon Howl, who netted 11lb 9oz, into second.

River Alne champion Barry Feldhahn grabbed third with 10lb 12oz. Section winners were Les Spencer, Steve Spencer and Tony Sabin.

KEITH Jones lifted the trophy on Saturday when Astwood Bank's Dark Lane Angling Club fished their Top Ten' match on the Arrow.

Treasurer Jones netted 15lb 2oz of chub off Bleachfield Meadow to see off Dave Curtis who weighed in 12lb 13oz.

The Fur and Feather contest was fished on the Arrow. Tony Lockett led the 25-strong field netting 9lb 14oz off Mill Lane to take the trophy.

THE 2006 River Alne Championship took place on the Needles AC and Riverside AC stretches of the river.

With 56 anglers taking part some very good weights were caught. The new champion on peg 37 (Riverside) is Feldhan who fished caster and maggot for an 18lb 9oz chub catch. Runner-up was Blewett.
