FOR the first time a committee has been formed in Redditch to raise money for the local work of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
"All the money raised in Redditch will be spent in Redditch on Redditch children," a spokesman for the society said this week.
"We must have funds in order to prevent cruelty," he said. "There is a problem in Redditch, it is not a big one but it is still a problem."
The first task has been to organise a house-to-house collection which, it is hoped, will cover every road in the town.
