RMT, a motorcycle training school and riders club in Redditch, is gearing up to raise money for Cancer Research and the West Midlands Air Ambulance.

RMT is organising a charity motorcycle ride on Sunday, July 10.

It is inviting all riders to join them on the day, even learners with L-plates. The event will start from RMT’s offices at the Rubicon Centre, Lakeside, with registration at 9am. The leisurely ride will head through the Cotswolds, stopping for refreshments, before heading to The Washford Mill pub in Redditch for a barbecue and raffle. Non-bikers are welcome to meet participants at the pub at around 3pm.

Each bike will be asked to contribute £10 on the day, the money from this and the raffle will be distributed between the charities.

Cancer Research is a charity close to the hearts of staff of RMT Motorcycle training, having lost a good friend and an avid biker to the illness, and this is the third year RMT has organised this ride out, in his honour.

This year RMT has decided to raise the bar in its fundraising by rallying a team together for Race for Life. The team is made up of females who work or have trained with RMT. The race is on July 24 from 11am at Arrow Valley Country Park.

Simon Hayes, owner of RMT Motorcycle Training, said: “This year we have decided to make July our fundraising month, combining our annual charity ride and the Race for Life race.

“These events are about the community coming together, so we would love to see as many people as possible joining us.”
