PEOPLE in the town are being asked to decide who they want representing them on Redditch Council.

The local elections 2011 are being held on Thursday, May 5 for borough councillors in the wards of Abbey, Astwood Bank & Feckenham, Batchley & Brockhill, Church Hill, Crabbs Cross, Greenlands, Headless Cross & Oakenshaw, Matchborough, West and Winyates.

One councillor will be elected for each of the wards, except in Greenlands, where there are two seats up for grabs due to the resignation of Councillor Graham Vickery.

There are no borough council elections this year in Central and Lodge Park wards and there will be no parish council election in Feckenham, because only five candidates were nominated for the seven available seats.

Standing in Abbey Ward will be Steve Bridge (Cons), Rosemary Kerry (Green), Alan Mason (Lab) and Diane Thomas (Lib Dem).

In Astwood Bank & Feckenham, the candidates are Brandon Clayton (Cons), John FIsher (Lab), Jennifer Treen (Lib Dem) and Kevin White (Green).

Standing in Batchley & Brockhill will be Roger Bennett (Cons), Dale Cox (Lib Dem), Loretta Griffin (Green) and Luke Stephens (Lab).

In the Church Hill Ward, the candidates are Lee Bradley (Green), David Gee (Lib Dem), Kathy Haslam (Cons) and Robin King (Lab).

In Crabbs Cross, Andrew Brazier (Cons), Monica Fry (Lab), Edward Killworth (Lib Dem) and Yvonne Rhodes (Green).

Standing in Greenlands, where two seats on the council are up for grabs, will be Rebecca Blake (Lab), Taff Davies (Cons), Wanda King (Lab), Anthony Pitt (Lib Dem), David Smith (Cons), Ian Webster (Lib Dem) and Rylma White (Green).

In Headless Cross & Oakenshaw the candidates are Carole Gandy (Cons), Pattie Hill (Lab), John Stanley (Lib Dem), and Alistair Waugh (Green).

Standing in Matchborough will be Emma Bradley (Green), Juliet Brunner (Cons), Rita Hindle (Lib Dem), and Neal Stote (Lab).

In West Ward, the candidates are David Bush (Cons), Louise Deveney (Green), Peter Merricks (Lib Dem), and John Witherspoon (Lab).

And in Winyates, Bev Minto (Green), Philip Mould (Lab), Simon Oliver (Lib Dem) and Dave Pellett (Cons) will all be standing.
