FIREFIGHTERS from Redditch were called to a chip pan fire at Oakenshaw on Monday evening.
The incident happened at about 7.30pm in High Trees Close last night.
When crews arrived, the fire had burnt itself out, and firefighters used fan equipment to deal with the smoke in the house.
After the incident, they went into the local community, informing residents there has been a fire, and getting them to test their smoke alarms.
