A CHARITY is urging people to swap Christmas cards for Christmas posters to help people with cancer.

Macmillan Cancer Support is urging people, especially those in offices, to pass on their Christmas greetings via a festive poster rather than cards.

The posters will help raise cash for the charity, with those leaving a message on them asked to make a donation.

Kelly Whitehouse, Macmillan fundraising manager for Worcestershire, said: “Macmillan relies almost entirely on donations and every penny really matters.  “We already fund a wide range of cancer nurse specialists for Redditch, including lung, urology, palliative care and community nursing teams.

“Not to forget the recently launched Macmillan Cancer information and support service at the Alexandra Hospital.”

She added: “Without the public’s generous donations services like this would not be possible.”
