STAFF at Redditch-based Alpha Care Homes backcombed their hair and dug out their neon legwarmers and biggest shoulderpads to take part in an 80s-themed charity fundraiser.

Employees at Alpha Care Homes’ head office, Croft House, in Moons Moat Drive, donned their best 80s gear to take part in the annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, held on Friday, September 24 by cancer charity Macmillan.

Alpha Care Homes owns 13 care homes specialising in high quality elderly and dementia care in the West Midlands and the South East of England. Each home held its own event on the same day to raise cash for Macmillan.

Tracey York, of Alpha Care Homes, said: “We wanted to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning and thought that making it fancy dress would really brighten up the office for the day.

“Many of Alpha’s 13 care homes also took part across the country, so hopefully we’ve raised a good amount of money.”
