A van firm has opened its first ever showroom in Redditch thanks to “crazy” demand from customers.

Van Kings, which specialises in customising Ford Transits, only opened 18 months ago but soon needed a new premises to showcase its work after experiencing huge growth.

Owner, Scott Parks, has now signed a five-year deal to lease one of the refurbished units in Brook Street.

Mr Parks, aged 28, said: “The market for customised vans, particularly Transits, is just huge at the moment, and the last six months have gone crazy.

“It can be the motor trade, businesses, sole traders or families but five or six-seater vans are just so popular that we’re having to operate a waiting list to cater for demand.

“We fit fancy wheels, sidebars, interiors and sports kits, everything to make a van stand out and use Facebook and Instagram to show off our work which brings in even more customers.”

Mr Parks has a decade of experience in the vehicle sales industry, which he has been bringing to his new business, and as thanked commercial property agents John Truslove for its support in securing the new showroom.

He said: “I started working with Ben Truslove from John Truslove and he was great. He’s the only person I would ever deal with in the future as he made sure everything went really smoothly.

“We take the vehicles in at our new showroom in Brook Street, send them to our offsite body shop for work and bring them back.

“As a result, we have about a dozen vehicles at any one time, so with the different stock every week, it’s a constantly rotating display of what we can do.

Joint managing director at John Truslove, Ben Truslove, said: “These Brook Street units have been recently refurbished to a very high standard and work extremely well to showcase Van Kings’ work. This is a win-win all around.”
