WORCESTERSHIRE is a county of outstanding natural beauty - but which area is the best place to live? 

Muddy Stilettos revealed the top 10 places to live in Worcestershire 2022/2023 and why they were chosen.

The list takes into account factors like school and nursery ratings, eateries, shopping, culture, nearby attractions and house prices when selecting its top livable places. 

10. Pershore

Muddy Stilettos praised the village for its high scores on quality-of-life surveys and its shops, which provide residents and visitors with 'real' independent shops like butchers and bakers.

9. Worcester 

Redditch Advertiser: "An ancient cathedral city that's buzzing with fun stuff to do all year round and an array of independent shops, boutiques and cafes," is how Muddy Stilettos described Worcester. 

It was praised for its vast historical past, ultra-modern facilities such as The Hive and residents' love for a "good festival".

8. Stourport-on-Severn

Redditch Advertiser: Stourport providing a slice of riverside living and its character of seeming like a seaside destination when it is miles from the sea was one of the reasons it was mentioned.

It's a perfect place to commute to Birmingham, Worcester or London, and its closeness to the Wyre Forest also brought it to number eight on the list. 

7. Droitwich Spa

Redditch Advertiser: The "friendly town" of Droitwich was described as "a historic spa town with a newly restored (and rather glorious) Lido in the summer months."

Muddy Stilettos said it is a perfect place to buy a home, and St Peter's Road, Corbett Avenue and Tagwell Road have drool-worthy views over Droitwich Lido Park. 

6. Broadway

Redditch Advertiser: Broadway TowerOften referred to as the 'The Jewel of the Cotswolds', Broadway was picked for looking almost like a film set with its picturesque views. 

It is home to artisan delis, art galleries, upmarket tea rooms, antique shops and boutiques.

5. Bromsgrove

Redditch Advertiser: Sanders Park, Bromsgrove. "A traditional, cosmopolitan market town surrounded by beautiful, green-belt rolling countryside, first documented in the early 9th century," is what Muddy Stilettos said about Bromsgrove.

The area scored highly for its nurseries and schools, which have 'good' and 'outstanding' ratings.

4. Upton-upon-Severn

Redditch Advertiser: Upton-upon-Severn is known for its love of a good festival and scored highly on its cultural attractions. 

There are lovely riverside walks fringed with great pubs, or catch a riverboat ride from one of the pleasure crafts that sail up and down. 

3. Bewdley

Redditch Advertiser: Muddy Stilettos said if you squint a bit, Bewdley could be mistaken for Amsterdam - their words, not ours!

It is a small Georgian town filled with lovely walks, a museum, gardens and almost 20 pubs and restaurants.

2. Tenbury Wells

Redditch Advertiser: Kyrewood Tenbury WellsTenbury Wells has been described as a picturesque location on the River Teme and a magnet for anyone seeking a nature-filled, waterside lifestyle with all the perks of town living. 

It comes in at number two for its richly traditional high street and The Regal Cinema, which is at the heart of the town.

1. Malvern 

Redditch Advertiser: Malvern HillsHugged by some of the most jaw-dropping scenery in the South West, this picturesque spa town is the gateway to the Malvern Hills.

Muddy Stilettos said it has many indie stores and eateries, a plentiful stock of houses, and handsome character villas to snap up, which is why it was named number one on their list.
